This rustic bed frame is hand-carved with a gently ornate central top carving on the frame of the headboard, and the foot end and each of the 4 cabriole legs have acanthus scroll shoulder carvings. The curved double-layer rattan headboard panel is painted in a brown-grey thin distemper (a blend of paint and water) that over time will rub away gently to reveal the rattan beneath, providing a really authentic French antique aesthetic.

Made from a recycled mahogany frame, in a purposely rustic finish designed to reveal the true beauty of the wood, organic knots, cracks, grain and characteristics of the wood, adding to the authenticity of the purest and most beautiful natural material.

This French bed is the ultimate in pared back romantic and carefree styling, taking inspiration from the styling of French country homes. The reclaimed wood finish gives this piece a gentle warmth which would suit both a fresh, bright white bedroom or a more classic French style bedroom (as photographed).
